Wright was an engine fitter with the RAAF at Fairbairn when he was posted to Vietnam. He served in the Vietnam War with No.9 Squadron from 2 April 1968 to 26 March 1969. The AWM image shows Wright with two other No.9 Squadron engine fitters, Fred Mascord and Ken Cantle.
