Notes
Woodhouse attended Canberra Grammar School during the 1930s. He joined the 3rd Battalion (in C Company), a militia unit, on 5 January 1942 and arrived in Port Moresby in Papua on 27 May 1942. In September that year he was hospitalised with dysentery and returned to Australia in January 1943 after being placed on the 'dangerously ill' list. According to a letter he wrote in 1946 he fought in the Owen Stanley Ranges. He was discharged on 31 May 1943 as medically unfit. He died in 1986.
