Notes
Ross graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon in December 1942 and enlisted the next day. He served with the 2/4 Field Regiment and after further training in the AIF, embarked from Townsville in July 1943, disembarking in Port Moresby five days later. He served in New Guinea until March 1944. It wasn't until June 1945 that Ross and his unit were sent to Borneo as part of the attack on Balikpapan. He received multiple gun shot wounds to the chest, abdomen, legs and arms and died the next day, 14 July 1945.
