Notes

Brill grew up at Westlake (now part of Yarralumla) and served his motor mechanic apprenticeship at the Government Transport Depot in Kingston - he was the second indentured apprentice in the ACT. He served with 38 Squadron in the war and married Beryl Faulds at Cessnock on 13 May 1944. By the 1960s Brill was the used car sales manager at Commonwealth Motors and later worked as sales manager for York Toyota. He died on 15 March 2008 and is buried in the ex-services section of Gungahlin Cemetery.
