Notes
Benzie's father worked at the Royal Military College, Duntroon from 1913 to 1919. David Benzie enlisted in the army on 30 May 1940 as a Gunner with 1 Anti Aircraft Regiment but was discharged on 23 July 1940 so that he could join the RAAF, which he did the same day. He served with 21 Squadron operating out of the base at Nadzab in New Guinea.
