Notes
The text of the sign at the Kambah Woolshed states; " In 1940 FS (Sim) Bennet, a Cooma grazier, swapped his 'Carinya' property for 'Kambah'. After serving the RAAF in World War II, Bennet returned to 'Kambah' and set about improving a "derelict sheep farm". During Bennet's 30 years of ownership 'Kambah' also became a centre for pasture improvement and Bennet, an early exponent of the use of phalaris grass in the district, won multiple awards.
"Sim Bennet and his wife Judy were well-known in Canberra social circles hosting visitors and holding functions at the Kambah Homestead while raising three children. Bennet had a passion for breeding race horses and made a significant contribution to the development of horse racing in the ACT and surrounding districts."
