Notes
Baxter arrived in Canberra in 1940 and served with the 9th Division Cavalry in Egypt, Syria and Libya. Prior to El Alamein in 1942 he was detached for six months to the Army Service Corps where he was a transport Sergeant in convoys from Port Said to Tobruk during 1941. After the war he was president of the North Canberra sub-branch of the RSSILA.
